With the prevalence of so-called artificial intelligence (AI), the amount of people turning to it to the technology to help them write, or fully write, content is growing quickly. While it may be getting more difficult to detect assisted writing and generative images, it is still fairly easy and reliable. Regardless, I want to be very clear about my use of this technology past, present, and future.
In prior blogs I have been up front about using generative AI for creating custom images, primarily with Google’s Gemini. For the images, when I remember, I include the prompt I used to generate the image as a caption. I’ve also started slowly going back to create the “featured image” for blogs without one for consistency and aesthetics.
That said, I do not want to use nor will I use generative text for my blogs. I enjoy writing and don’t feel the need to use it. At some point in the future I may hit a wall where the amount of drafts and notes are overwhelming and I feel my time left to write isn’t there. At that point I might turn to it, but even then doubtful. Publishing notes, drafts, and unfinished thoughts sounds more appealing to me.
But, should I change my mind I will make it very clear if a blog was written by anything other than my convoluted squirrel brain exploding with ideas.
